Weathering The Storm

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I found a MoneyPak I hadn’t yet used, because somehow that Greendot card I purchased like 5 months ago was either lost in the mail, or was deliberately taken from me.

So I was happy to find out that Paypal accepts MoneyPaks.

Right now I’m in the process of installing Active Directory on the newly created server, and then after that I have to connect the two domains together.

If the other domain controller wasn’t running Server 2003, I could have left the authorization level at Server 2008. Oh well, it will be good to actually have a backup domain controller finally. That gives me the ability to create a more robust, more streamlined network, and also gives me the ability to map two static IPs to the two DNSs, so that I can also host a voluminous amount of sites in the future.

I’m thinking ahead, and preparing for the future. I’ve got short term goals, and long term goals. Short term goals always take precedence, but long term goals are also important.

A person like me ALWAYS stays business-minded. Personally, I might not be up there with the big boys yet, but I will be some day soon, hopefully sooner than later.

While others work at 9 – 5 jobs trading hours for dollars, I work long, exhausting hours everyday while following my dreams.

I can’t do it by myself, I know this! I’m thankful for the individuals who are part of the team. As they become more motivated, I become more motivated. As they up their games, I up mine.

It might take me 2 or three months to get everything up and running like it’s suppose to be on the technical side, but that’s because I’m doing it myself. If I had a staff of technicians and web designers working with me, this would go alot smoother, and things would get done promptly, as well as proficiently.

N E Ways while I’m weathering the storm, I shut down the new server temporarily since I don’t currently have a UPS hooked up to it. The older server does, but not the new one.

I think the storm has calmed down, so I’m going to come back up and finish installing all the roles, so I can go ahead and connect the two DNS servers together, so I can manage both of them and transfer over all the info from the first server to the second.

I’ll try to get all that finished before daylight, but I’ve been going and going and going for over a day, so I don’t kow if I can maintain and keep my energy and motivation level up.

That’s what’s going on in my neck ov da woods.

What about you?

Don’t Tell Me I’m Not Technical Savvy

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Since Twitter is “over capacity” again, I’ll just jump onto my site, and write what I want to write. Thank the Lord for WordPress!

Now when I first set this site up, I had set it up with the intention of teaching and preaching the Gospel, and teaching about other aspects, as well as annotating my own thoughts and emotions about personal issues I have delt with. I also knew I could use WordPress to publish my poetry, as well as voice my opinions, perspectives, and perceptions.

Maybe I use Twitter too much, maybe I’ve become “twitterpated”, and maybe I have become too bold, too outspoken, too “opinionated” lately, but hey, I’ve got lots of things to say, and no mic to speak into. So, I just write out what I want to SPEAK, instead of SPEAK out what I want to say.

Why? Because, I’m a naturally Gifted orator, I KNOW I have a very deep, resonate, commercial speaking voice!

Speaking of which, I have to prepare for a lesson for a Bible Study next week, it will be the first time I’ll be teaching and preaching to a live audience in person.

When I worked at Z 92 Five, I did become quite proficient with speaking, but it’s a whole different ballgame, a different mindstate as well. For starters, you’re in a room by yourself, unless you have a guest on the show. This means that though you’re speaking live, you cannot really see your audience, and they cannot see you. Second, it’s a more up-beat aspect of oration. Now I did stumble on words when I would have to read the news when I filled in for Rob Rupe on 1350 (WIOU) occassionally, and I did make many mistakes when I either produced the Morning Show for Allan James when he was doing it at a remote location, or when I filled in for any other radio personality, but it was indeed a great learning experience, and under the tutelage of the staff at the radio station, I grew and learned alot about DJing and broadcasting.

What I am trying to say is, I’m not some dumb, stupid idiot, though I may make many mistakes. I know I make many grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and typos when I go on my rants and raves on Twitter, but hey, I’m only human, capable of making mistakes, capable of sinning.

I’m not hyping myself up to be “technical savvy”, and then not actually being able to follow through on it.

See, I set this site up myself, I installed the operating system (though I need to get away from XP and use something like Ubuntu), I installed WAMP on my own, I installed WordPress on my own, I created the graphics on the site, and I registered the domain name.

You cannot say I’m not “technical savvy”, I have over 16 years professional experience in the I.T. industry!

I only use Twitter anymore to reach out to a wider audience, just as I was doing when I was posting blogs on myspace. I rarely use Myspace anymore, and I still haven’t set up a profile on facebook, but it doesn’t matter.

As far as work goes, well, I set up the server where I’m at, I installed the operating system, I set up the DNS server aspect, and the domain controller, and the WINS server as well. I setup the workstations, I hooked the workstations up to the domain, and I maintain the server and the workstations!

I did all this without being taught how to do it!

Now don’t tell me I’m not “technical savvy”.

My Advice To Twitter

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

I don’t know how Twitter has their network set up, but they need to expand, they’ve grown too much, too fast, to keep up with everything.

That “over capacity” problem is getting on my last nerve!

Call up the techs and network specialists, tell them to expand the network by building some more servers, using high end processors designed for super-computers, and then set up the “cluster server” aspect on the software (OS) side.

At least, that’s my advice to Twitter.

The Strong & The Weak

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

The President says (I’m paraphrasing) it is imperative that we end our dependencies on fossil fuels, and on the front page of this morning’s edition of the Kokomo Tribune is an article about Ethanol, but nobody will even talk to a true mathematician / scientist / technician / engineer in regard to a solution that is theoretically possible.

I’m done going on rants and raves about this Vision the Lord has given me, I’m tired of having to explain things, I’m tired of not being taken seriously.

I don’t take myself too seriously, but serious enough to get my point across.

For the umpteen trillionth time, I KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THE WORLD’S ENERGY PROBLEMS!

No matter how many others laugh at me, and say I’m just manic and having grandiose thoughts, I know the Lord blessed me with this Vision, and so I know He’s going to make a way out of no way. He wouldn’t bless me with this Vision and then not give me the latitude to carry it out. It’s kind of like when Noah was told to build the Ark, very few believed in him, very few understood him, but he knew the Lord had commanded him to build the ark.

That’s how it is with me.

The Lord takes those who are weak and makes them strong, and takes those who are strong and makes them weak. He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

I’m not able to write much right now, so I’ll come back to all this later on.

Despite Our Advances, We’re Still Digressing

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

If I’m not mistaken, America was founded on certain principals, morals, and ethics, not on ideologies and orthodoxies.

If I am correct, there was no such thing as “Republican” or “Democrat” when the Native Americans were here, nor was there such a thing when the Pilgrims arrived here, nor did anything as such develop when migrants were colonizing the land.

This means there was no such thing as “conversative” and “liberal” either, that whole concept of political government didn’t come about until later on.

Now it is clear to see that the U.S. system of government, and it’s organization and hierarchy, is an attempt to perfect what the Greek and Roman civilizations instilled throughout most of Europe. This is common sense knowledge, even if you might not know much about American history, and even if you don’t know much about the systems of government, law, and justice in the U.S.

The Afghan Peace Conference that militants have attacked makes me think about quite alot, just as what has been going on in (or close to) Israel makes me think about quite alot.

It is clear to see violence begets violence. It is easy to notice how hatred begets hatred. It is simple to understand greed begets greed. It is not that difficult to come to the conclusion that corruption begets corruption. It is not hard to realize lies beget lies.

The antithesis of this would be peace begets peace, love begets love, generosity begets generosity, righteousness begets righteousness, and honesty begets honesty.

In this world, though, that isn’t always the case. This is why the only thing we can do is put our faith and trust in GOD, mankind is out of control, and cannot possibly see what he continues to do to himself and all of GOD’S Creation.

To me, anyone who chooses to use violence, or threatens others with violence, to spread their ideology, to spread their way of life, and yet claims to be believers of a faith that proclaims to be of Peace and Love, is truly lost, and not really spiritual, nor do they truly fear the Lord.

You can’t spread the Gospel by the sword, and you can’t spread democracy by force. Those who live by the sword will surely die by the sword, and those who use force to spread freedom will surely become slaves.

We still need lots and lots of prayer, dear brothers and sisters. We (all humanity) are still quite lost as a whole group. We’ve made all these advancements scientifically, technologically, and medically, but we’ve digressed spiritually, morally, and ethically.

Despite all our advances, we’re still digressing.

I do wonder if Bill Gates or his father will bring up anything about what’s going on in the Middle East on LKL tonight. I’m curious to know if Steve Jobs has anything to comment about that, since he’s trying to usher in the post-PC era.

I’m not trying to be rude, quite alot is going on in the world, human blood has been spilled, innocent people have died, and this “dull care” way of life hurts me in a very painful way. This desensitization of humans and sensitization of computers, cell phones, video games, and technology, upsets me.

Despite our advances, we’re still digressing.

The Brokest Genius In The World

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

If I am not mistaken, Google has set up their internal network in a unique way. Thousands of lower end, cheaper computers running Fedora (I think) are networked together as a cluster, and thus this helps distribute the massive workload on Google’s servers. If one system fails, it won’t cause the whole network to fail, because of redundancy and caching.

So I’m curious to know if they’re planning on upgrading to Fedora 13, since it’s out of beta now. Are they going to use Linux to build their new “cloud OS” on?

That’s why I don’t really like Google either, only true computer geeks like me know what really goes on, because these multibillion dollar corporations like Google, Microsoft, and Apple, lie and deceive, and use trickery to continue to gain extreme amounts of riches, wealth, and power. Since most don’t really know about information technology, most don’t know what really goes on, and they don’t research deeper into it either.

Not I! I know that without open source operating systems like Fedora, even Nasa couldn’t function!

Fedora and Ubuntu are my personal preferences of linux flavors, but Fedora is distributed by Red Hat, and Red Hat isn’t all innocent either. Novell certainly isn’t, even though they distribute SuSe Linux. Mandriva is rarely used in the enterprise anymore, and other smaller distributions like Slitaz and Gentoo are barely known. Then you’ve got CentOS, which is a recompilation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, just like Oracle Enterprise Linux is.

Unix operating systems are losing popularity as well. BSD is still a powerful operating system used in the enterprise, alot of banking and financial corporations might run a BSD network for secure transactions over the net. Solaris? I’m not sure what Sun Microsystems (or rather, Oracle) is planning on doing with it. IBM is still sitting on a gold mine with AIX, but they refuse to recompile it to work with x86 technology, and instead are keeping it strictly for the PowerPC hardware architecture.

I kow too much about computers and technology to be this broke, so that’s why I’m spilling the beans and calling out names.

I’ve got to be the brokest genius in the world!

A New King Of Technology

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Does Apple thinks they’re the ish because they surpassed Microsoft in “capitalization value” today, as this article states?

I really don’t like Microsoft, I know how greedy and corrupt Microsoft has been over the years, I know the Truth about the I.T. industry, I know what really goes on behind the scenes as well. I really don’t like Apple either, they are a lying, deceiving, greedy corporation, just about as bad as Microsoft.

I STILL say that Steve Jobs is not thinking about the bigger picture for allowing his corporation to continue marketing the “software / hardware” combination of the Macs, and ignore opening up OS X to a wider market segmentation by legally allowing OS X to be installed on PCs.

I don’t have issues with Apple’s products so much as I have issues with Apple’s business ethics.

So much for interoperability! The only way to truly run OS X on a PC is by either doing your own hacking and editing of kexts, or find a decent, stable version on the net that has already been hacked, such as any iatkos or kalyway version, or do it virtually, like using Pear or VMWare. If you ask me, I say that more customers would switch over to the OS X platform if they could install the OS on their PCs that cost them much less than Macs. Why spend $2,000 for a Mac when you can get a PC that has almost exactly the same hardware specs for half the price? That’s what keeps Microsoft having over 90% shares of the desktop OS market. Then again, I’m all for open source code, OS X wouldn’t even exist without BSD, and Darwin is open source code, so it only seems logical to offer interoperability, especially in this day and age, when everything is being virtualized, and cloud operating systems are becoming the wave of the future. Web based operating systems, that are installed on servers and able to be accessed over the net, are what Google and Microsoft are currently working on perfecting. Is Apple keeping up with that trend? Or are they going to concentrate on the smart phone and media player markets?

One of these days though, a new player is going to emerge, someone who actually knows what he’s talking about, and has real-world professional experience in the I.T. industry, having been solving complex technical problems for over 16 years. One of these days I’ll be taken seriously, I’ll find some investors who want to invest in this lucrative opportunity, so that I can have a decent amount of capital to work with.

If you hold my past against me, then you don’t understand what I have delt with all my life. If you hold these mental and mood disorders against me, then you are discriminating.

My own biological father was designing and building cell phones and pagers about 35 years ago, I do believe that should say quite alot about who I am and what I can offer all humanity. I inherited bipolar disorder from him, it is a hereditary disease, so technically speaking, it isn’t my fault. Most of my family members deal with some kind of depression in some degree, for whatever reason.

That IN NO WAY NEGATES WHAT I AM CAPABLE OF DOING! IT DOES NOT MEAN I AM NOT EXTREMELY SMART AND INTELLIGENT!

I deserve to be given the opportunity to prove every word I have written. I deserve to be listened to, I AM A HUMAN BEING! I have thoughts and feelings just like everyone else, I have dreams and aspirations just like every other human being does!

WIthout having capital to work with, I can only do so much. I can only solve so many complex technical problems on my own, by myself! I can only write so many deep, profound, thought-provoking, educational blogs, which are all free mind you. Again, I haven’t been given ANY awards for my hard work and diligence, I haven’t received ANY kind of financial compensation, or any honorary degrees, for all the researching and studying I’ve done.

If you ask me, I have a valid, legitimate reason to be frustrated, and upset.

I’m SO sick and tired of not being taken seriously, especially considering that I’m not even thinking about myself, I’m thinking about how to help others! I’m not trying to get rich and wealthy, I’m trying to use the Gifts and talents the Lord has blessed me with to help others! I’m not trying to dominate and rule the world, I’m simply trying to help solve alot of these serious problems!

Microsoft and Apple should be paying me! Without people like me, their ish wouldn’t even work right! I fix their ish!

Move over Microsoft, Apple, and Google, there’s a NEW king of technology on the block!

Security Alertery

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

“Security” is all the rave now, not just national security, but cyber security. It’s a funny business I’m in, because security is something I consider highly important, but I don’t put my faith and trust in mankind, nor myself. I put my faith and trust in the Lord GOD Almighty, the Holy One of Israel.

Google can be “paranoid” about security, but maybe if Google wasn’t another one of those multibillion dollar corporations who has bought out or merged with a large number of corporations and businesses over the years, just like Microsoft, hackers wouldn’t want to hack into their ish. The same can be said about Oracle now, so their newest security release highlights the importance of keeping up with the securing and protection of intellectual property and data.

Sensitive, confidential information is stored on servers in this day and age, and so the best way to keep that information secure and confidential, is to separate it and it’s network from the internet altogether.

Ah, the very first thing I was taught about securing networks is to keep them separate from the internet, and if it’s necessary to establish a secure connection over the net, then you need to make sure the encryption techniques are rock solid. There’s various cryptographic methods in this day and age, some being hardware, most though being software (even high end firewalls and routers use low-level, Unix-like operating systems to configure and maintain the equipment).

I’ve got so many ideas about how to establish a new, seemingly uncrackable, unhackable, cryptographic technique for securing information and data, but alas, again, until I am taken seriously, I’ll keep these multitrillion dollar ideas to myself.

Since I can’t lie about what I have accomplished thus far in my life (though to others it may not seem like much, since I don’t have any physical assets to back up what I say), you can’t deny the fact that the Lord has blessed me with a very mathematical, logical, analytical mind. I continue to prove that, because I continue to solve complex technical problems proficiently and expediently. I continue to learn extremely fast. Now sometimes I may run into programs that I haven’t used before (like what just happened earlier), but it doesn’t take me long to figure things out.

This is what I call security alertery.

Hmmm. I wonder when a natural problem solver might be needed.

While the current President of the United States is touring the world, helping round up “loose nukes”, I’ve been stating, for the longest, that the U.S. Government needs to stop trying to be the world’s savior, and start getting herself right first.

I was advocating for a complete, total annihilation of all nuclear weapons, in blogs, way before the current President began campaigning for the office of President of the United States. The funny thing is, I do have some readers who can prove this, if they are still reading.

Either way, I’m not about to call it quits, I’m in this for the long haul.

You’ll Make It!

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

I put my server back online just for a little while, to check something out.

I’m in the middle of setting up another server, one specifically designed to be a server, so I have been spending lots of time setting up the user accounts and security policies. I’ve got a few more roles to set up, and I’ll be done. In the meantime, I can remotely log in so that I can finish up the tedious work in the comfort of my home.

Ah, ya gotta love technology!

And the funny thing is, I’ve got the security locked down pretty good, only I can remotely log in now, and the packets that are being sent over the net are encrypted, and once I finish setting up the certificates the server can handle secure, encrypted communication on the net for payment transactions.

Oh yes, this is important alright, and that’s why I’m taking my time to perfect this.

Hey, I learn on the fly, by hands-on training, and that’s how it’s ALWAYS been with me!

I was about my business during the day, and I’m still about my business during the night.

Some r&r would be nice, but duty calls, and I have no woman to spend time with, so I’ll just continue to submerge myself in my work.

But I might be able to get somewhere with this, so this isn’t just me being lonely and entertaining myself, this is me continuing to prove that I’m not some scrub, some dumb, stupid idiot who doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Yes, I know what I’m doing, I know what I’m talking about!

I don’t doubt myself anymore, I know I am successful, but it is only because the Lord blessed me with so many Gifts and talents. He’s blessed me with so much, so at least one of these Gifts is gonna get my foot in the door, and then I can concentrate on other aspects, and venture out into other industries. But I gotta start where I’m at, and I’ve gotta work with what the Lord has given me, that’s all I’m saying.

I went on a rant and rave on twitter earlier today, so I just figured I’d put my server back up, to see who’s been paying attention.

You know I love all of you very much!

I ain’t gotta tell you, stay on the grind, keep doing you, keep following your dreams!

You’ll make it, I KNOW IT!

Resensitizing Humans

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

I’m just gonna put this out there, I don’t care what others think about it.

You know, with all that money that is being spent to keep those jets flying in the sky (I know jet fuel is expensive), alot of people could actually be helped. Alot of the hungry could be fed, alot of the naked could be clothed, alot of the homeless could be sheltered, and alot of the uninsured could be insured.

Yes, I still see jets flying in the sky around here, and it can’t be possible that these are commercial airlines that are just passing over on their way to some major airport.

I don’t know who is on these airplanes and jets, and what they keep doing flying over the City of Firsts, but I know that it’s very foolish to keep spending all that money on jetfuel when so many people are struggling financially in this day and age.

Yeah, with the money being spent on jet fuel, I could have already got something set up that would put thousands of people back to work. With the money being spent to monitor me, and watch me (or monitor someone else, or watch someone else), thousands of people could have been educated.

But I don’t know what else to write, I don’t know how else to get the Message out to the masses except by hitting up the net, and continuing to write these blogs.

One of these days I’ll be taken seriously, they (the powers that be) can’t keep me blacklisted forever!

So yes, I read this article, about the F.C.C.’s call for a new broadband plan, but I’ll say (write) it just like I have before, I’d love to create another Tier 1 Network ISP, and be able to offer services that will be comparable to those offered from the 10 (or 11, or 12) Tier 1 Network ISPs in the world, such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Qwest Communications, etc. However, until I’m in a position in which I have some investors who want to invest in this lucrative opportunity, until I am taken seriously, I’ll continue to hit up the net to try to get the Message out there.

I’ve got a few loving, caring men and women of GOD on my side now, I’m in a family, a spiritual family, and though I may not be financially stable right now, our Heavenly Father is, He has more riches and wealth than the world can comprehend or understand, so I know He’ll make a way out of no way!

But still, instead of spending all this money on jet fuel to monitor me, and watch me, how about the powers that be (or the paparazzi) think about spending that money in other more constructive ways, ways which will actually help the less fortunate? How about thinking about something other than recon and information gathering for a change? How about we actually start thinking about what we can each do as individuals to make a change for the better, and make the world a better place?

How about we start trying to resensitize?

Instead of desensitizing humans, and sensitizing robots, and technology, we need to desensitize robots, and technology, and resensitize humans.

It’s kind of funny really, I’m on the front line in this Good fight, the Lord blessed me with a mind that can comprehend and understand electronics and technology, so I’m able to figure out how to get around all the red tape that is prevalent in not just the I.T. industry, but also the entertainment industry, as well as politics. It’s even better that the Lord blessed me with a compassionate, pure heart, so that I actually am trying to use the Gifts and talents He has blessed me with in the right way, to help others.

I’m all about trying to resensitize humans, even though I have an uncanny ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.

Well, I gotta get back to work, there’s too many things I need to do, and not enough time in the day to accomplish all the tasks that have been put before me.

P.S. I read Ecclesiastes chapters 5, 6, and 7 last night (or this morning) before I went to bed, and have been meditating on what I read all day. I need to stay reading and studying the Word of GOD, I can’t let myself get sidetracked, I can’t spend so much time working that I don’t spend some alone time with our Heavenly Father.
